Vegas Shock
Las Vegas a world of entertainment spread across a small strip in the desert. Sin City is a place of constant re-invention. A city that began in the early 1800’s now is home to over 130,000 hotels alone. Las Vegas is an attraction to all walks of life. If this is your first visit to Las Vegas, it can be a bit of a culture shock. In order to make your experience memorable on the positive side, it is important to be smart, gamble safely and wisely and watch your back. Surprisingly enough fellow tourists no longer list gambling as their number one reason to travel to visit Las Vegas. Eventually everyone winds up sitting at a table or at least one or two slot machines. On average, a tourist will risk $500 in Las Vegas gambling.
Before you go diving into the fast lane or an experienced table
at one of the top Hotel and Casinos of Las Vegas, know the laws,
rules and know your way around the game. Las Vegas “gaming” laws
are important for anyone to familiarize themselves with on the way
to Vegas, or before you visit any casino floor. The Nevada Gaming
Commission and Control Board developed and administer all online gaming
regulations. Their website can be useful as well. Casinos with more
than 15 slot machines pay an annual tax of $250 on each one. All
casino employees must have a permit to work in the gaming industry,
bartenders and food service workers are the only ones exempt. As in
most states, you must be 21 to enter a casino, gamble, and
obviously be over 21 to consume alcohol. It is wise to always have
your photo id on you while in Las Vegas. Las Vegas law does allow
open containers in public, and on the streets, you may not however
carry open containers in a vehicle. And never, take Las Vegas
gambling “seriously”. It is not a form of earning money; it’s for
entertainment value only.
